Quotable Quotes

We are exposed to a lot of opinions and suggestions from peole around us – from social media statuses to the books that we read and even the sermons we listen to. Sometimes they are directed towards us, but most of the time they are just messages thrown into the air and we catch them as if they are meant to change the way we think. True enough, they often do!

Here are some of my favorite lines which somehow has influenced my faith and outlook in life.

On setting priorities straight:

Too often we say we are “defeated” by this or that sin. No, we are not defeated; we simply are disobedient! It might be good if we stopped using the terms “victory” and “defeat” to describe our progress in holiness. Rather we should use the terms “obedience” and “disobedience”.

On leaving baggages behind:

If God is able to forget your past, why can’t you? When you confess your sins and ask forgiveness of them, God throws your sins into the depths of the sea, and then puts up a sign on the shore that reads, “No Swimming”.
