Admit it. There are times when we all feel insufficient and lacking. There are times when we think we are not blessed enough and our lives don’t matter. These are times when life seems dull and boring. I remember our pastor call these times “the dark night of the soul.” These are the times when your spirits are dry and you motivation, energy and spiritual inspiration seem to leave you.
Have you ever been in this kind of situation? In Psalm 43:5, the David laments “Why, my soul, are you downcast? Why so disturbed within me? Put your hope in God, for I will yet praise him, my Savior and my God”. He acknowledges that when things go wrong, within or outside his control, He can trust God. Praising God is our soul’s connection with the Creator who gives joy, peace, favor, blessings and life in us.
So are you feeling empty now? Put your hope in God, and praise Him.
