Stressed Lately?

When stress level brings you to your knees, you are in the best position to find strength.

Are you in a situation when you just want to rest your mind and body from all the stress given to you by your job, your kids, your neighbor, or just any other thing or person or any other reason?

  1. Money
  2. Self-pressure
  3. Lack of sleep

When stress level brings you to your knees, you are in the best position to find strength.

There was a time when David faced too much of stress, because the people spoke of stoning him to death because their families were kidnapped by their enemies. They blame the mishap upon David. They cried tears until there were no tears to cry. It was a very heartbreaking episode in the life of David (see 1 Samuel 30:1-30).

Astoundingly, David did not allow the negativity of the emotions get the most out of him. Instead he turned to the Lord:

“David was greatly distressed because the men were talking of stoning him; each one was bitter in spirit because of his sons and daughters. But David found strength in the Lord his God”. 1 Samuel 30:6

His pain served as a launch pad for his faith. His frustrations served as a catalyst for greater trust. His weakening body and spirit found strength in the presence of the Lord.

Sa atin, in times of pain and frustrating situations, kanino tayo humuhugot ng lakas?

Sa mga kaibigan?
Sa mga self-help books?
Sa ating mga hobbies and collections?

David came to a point na ang mga taong sumusuporta sa kanya ay handa na siyang patayin. What could be more stressful than that? But David was able to get through the seemingly insurmountable stressful event because he found strength in the Lord his God.

And you can find strength in God too!

It is a good thing to know that:

“The Lord is near to all who call on him, to all who call on him in truth.” Psalm 145:18

And see how awesome God’s promise of spiritual and physical refreshing to the weary:

“Do you not know?
    Have you not heard?
The Lord is the everlasting God,
    the Creator of the ends of the earth.
He will not grow tired or weary,
    and his understanding no one can fathom.
He gives strength to the weary
    and increases the power of the weak.
Even youths grow tired and weary,
    and young men stumble and fall;
but those who hope in the Lord
    will renew their strength.
They will soar on wings like eagles;
    they will run and not grow weary,
    they will walk and not be faint.”
Isaiah 40:28-31

Are you tired? Turn to God and find strength.
