Train of Thanks 06

Because we’ll never run out of things to be grateful for.

Another fruitful week has passed! Grabe, sobrang bilis, in just a matter of two weeks as of writing this post, Christmas time na naman! This Christmas may be a lot different than last year, but praise be to God, He never ceases to be the reason for the Christmas season! And before I fully embrace Payday Tuesday tomorrow, allow me to thank the Lord for the things He has done for me the past week. Let’s get it on!

  1. Tour de Manila – from Marikina to Pasig – Makati – Manila – Mandaluyong – San Juan – Quezon City, then back to Marikina – our Tour de Manila was such a huge feat for me and my biking friends (Kuya Benj, Jem and Henry, sayang lang wala si Bongbong). We started off as early as 6am last Saturday after a hearty goto at Kalumpang, then went our way to routes we are not even familiar with. It was such a wonderful experience and never have we imagined our bikes and our strength would allow us to keep on pedalling for 12 hours straight, not including our occasional stops and rest. Except for Jem, the rest of us have not pedalled yet as far as Manila, so we’re all overwhelmed with our accomplishment! We arrived home around 8pm.

I wasn’t able to bring a better camera phone but good thing, Kuya Benj is always ready with his digicam and selfie stick. We had shots taken at Guadalupe bridge with AlDub’s split-billboard concept, of course with Rizal Shrine, Cultural Center of the Philippines and Intramuros.

Next time, we’re planning to conquer BGC, the CaMaNaVa area, or the Rizal areas. Padyak pa more.

  1. I am very much thankful with my MMND family for this:image
  2. I thank the Lord for guarding my heart and giving me peace that surpasses all understanding. Some heart issues happen as a result of outright disobedience to Him, but when you yield to His will, no matter how painful it is, He provides even the strength and peace to carry you through. #hugot
  3. Been looking for a good pair of sneakers this past few weeks and I am glad to finally make a decision. Sana lang tumagal siya. I was able to buy a pair of biking shorts! Ayun, ubos ang 13th Haha!
  4. Christmas gifts are coming! Yay!

How about you? What are you thankful for this week?

Train of Thanks 04

Because we’ll never run out of things to be grateful for.

It’s Monday once again, and before we formally welcome December tomorrow, allow me to send you my warm advanced greeting – Merry Christmas!

This week is filled with a lot of things to thank God for! Actually kung iisipin, lahat naman ng linggo at araw ay punong-puno ng mga bagay na maaaring ipagpasalamat sa Diyos. The Christmas rush is already rushing into our streets, our television sets and even felt by our pockets! Nararamdaman mo na ba? Haha!

  1. It has been a long time since I really gave priority to spend quality time with my family, especially with my parents. I am thankful for opportunities that I can serve them through my time and somehow, treating them even with simple dinner or taking them out for window shopping 🙂 Hahah!
  2. I am thankful for the privilege of serving the church in our 47th Church Anniversary, along with my all volunteers. It is a delight to serve the King of kings alongside people who loves the Lord as much as you do. Indeed, there is no other greater thing in this world that can compare with privilege of serving the One who has set us free.
  3. Itutuloy ko na: I am one with my whole church family, Marikina Foursquare Gospel Church, in thanking the Lord for His faithfulness to us, guiding us though ups and downs in the last 47 years of our church. I may not be present during the times when the church was conceived through prayers and when the first members started to congregate, but I am sure that the Lord is always present not just years ago but also in the coming years ahead. He is faithful indeed, and as members of the body of Christ, we’ll be ever grateful. Search for #MFGCat47 sa Facebook for pictures. Ohh! We had Ms. Miriam Quiambao, Ms. Universe 1999 1st Runner-up as our guest sharer. Will post my reflections na lang about her talk some other time.  Here’s my take on her preachimony (link here).
  4. For meaningful talks with my (some kasi wala yung iba) best of friends, I am so thankful. After our church anniversary celebration, Kuya Benjie, Henry and I had the chance to do the usual stuff we do even when we were still in teenage years – bibili ng makakain at tatambay, magkukwentuhan ng mga life goals at kung ano-ano pa. It is a blessing to know that you have friends who listen to you and never gets tired of doing so, tapos tatawa na lang kayo sa mga simple sights and pleasures sa paligid niyo. Oh, great feeling!
  5. Of course, for my birthday! I don’t usually celebrate birthdays but I appreciate people who remember me and pray for me. Though nasabi ko na ito sa previous post ko (my poem of appreciation for all people who are there for me always), I will never run out of reasons to thank the Lord for all of you. I may not be able to name names, but God knows who you are. My deepest gratitude.

And to you who reads this post, my appreciation. May this post be a challenge for you to share what are the things you are thankful for? As the old hymn goes, “Count your blessings, name them one by one”.

To all my Friends

I’ll never run out of reasons to thank the Lord for friends who always warm my life.

To all my friendsAs I reflect upon the year

Since I first step into existence,

I couldn’t help but be amazed

For God’s gifts called friends.

In the rugged path I’m trudging

Wonderful people I have met.

Some chose to stay, while others left

But their memories are remembered and kept.

When I’m with them the joy turns double

And in times of doubt they offer me hope.

In my frailties they refuse to mumble —

Helping hands present when heavier came each load.

Jesus lifts up my banner,

My friends lift up my hands;

They are more than encouragement

As we enter the Promised Land.

I’ll never run out of reasons to thank the Lord

For friends who always warm my life;

They may not be perfect, so am I,

But as long as they’re present, I know life’s worthwhile.

Malaking shout-outs muna!

I would like to express my sincerest appreciation to all the people who remembered me on my birthday, especially those greeted me personally, those who called, who texted, messaged me via PM on Facebook or posted their greeting on my timeline. I may not be able to name you all but you know who you are! May God bless you all richly.

I feel so blessed hearing commendations from people who appreciate my craft in writing, though there are times I’m think that I do not have an audience in the genre I am writing about. For those who read my blogs, my sincerest thanks! It is my utmost desire to minister with every poem, with every hugot, with every reflection, with every personal testimony and experiences, and with every blog I post here and in my other blog –
